Dear Richard, I have received the catalog in good order, thank you. Since PostNL is quite rough with packages, I feared damage to the corners, but the cassette was perfectly packaged. And now the great fun begins! Thanks a lot

Richard, thank you so much for the catalogue! It really is incredible, and I can only imagine how much work went in to it!! I did have one question - had anyone come forward yet and said they’ve found something that’s not in the book? I think what really struck me looking through it was the breadth of work that they have done, it’s really amazing! I mean no offense but that, but it seems that especially with how little documented the early work was, it’s almost an impossible task finding everything. You’ve certainly done an amazing job!

Dear Sir Duveen, I had the pleasure of receiving the book yesterday, it is magnificent, you have done an exceptional job. This book will perpetuate the diffusion of this very singular spirit and to pose as a collector the multitudes of ways of being rebellious to this world. Thank you I will enjoy it Best to you and good luck Alexandre

Merci.

Hi Richard We received one of the Banksy Catalogue Raisonné books today and it is superb - a fantastic production that must have involved a massive amount of dedicated research. Were you involved personally in creating this book? Many thanks Robert
Robert
Good morning Richard I'm seriously impressed by the research that you have undertaken and it's very interesting to learn that the Catalogue is actually a 'work in progress' and will develop for a second edition. I shall definitely watch out for your website. Please let me know the link, when it's 'live'. With best regards Robert

Perhaps one should just appreciate that someone takes on the huge task when the artist himself refuses. The market is a mess. And lots of legit Street Art and Street Pieces exist in an ocean of fakes from Dismaland and shit. At least some order is on its way. From the web bloch A CR is not any book, see below. It’s usually a serious matter. I believe the main reason Hessink is doing this is to create some credibility to their sorry bunch of street Banksys and fakes.

Wikipedia: “A catalogue raisonné (or critical catalogue) is a comprehensive, annotated listing of all the known artworks by an artist either in a particular medium or all media. The works are described in such a way that they may be reliably identified by third parties, and such listings play an important role in authentication.”

Bad news if Pest Control isn’t fit for purpose. It will make you as the authors the de facto authority for Banksy in the future. It’s BS.

I saw photos, it looks beautiful! Why to be always pessimistic or so critic because it’s a book about Banksy? Maybe because it’s expensive (and it merits this price I think), and people won’t buy it, so they criticize this sale. Before you and me the Boti book and the Dismaland book (even the one about WOH dioramas were not so great, poor photos). This one seems luxurious and has a lot of unknown photos, when Banksy was a (tall) teen painting first in Bristol.

My Catalogue arrived today. Yes I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, same as some on here pushing artists that draw blokes with big cocks in their mouths, art and everything surrounding it is subjective and whatever floats your boat. From a quick scan through, personally I think it’s very informative, worth the money? IMO yes but each to their own, if you’ve ordered one you’ll love it.

I've received my Catalogue this week, I'm glad I've ordered it. A beautiful Banksy Bible and nice quality

I got this Catalogue today, I've only had a quick flick though book, but first impressions are its pretty impressive. Its also bigger and heavier than i was expecting, over 9kg i think.

Recieved a copy this week. Well packaged & superbly put together.

I received my copy a week or so ago and it look me this long to sit down and pore through it. 3 books - one of UK street art, one of international and then an index (the slimmer book in the set). I agree with an earlier poster who said it's an interesting attempt to catalogue the street works many/most of which are gone so from a pure art history point of view, I think it's a worthwhile exercise. It's well put together, good quality and very comprehensive - though I know of a few missing street pieces not in here, I also got to see many I had never seen before. If you're a Banksy fan, I think it's worth it and good value considering the price of some other books. Invoice/payment and shipping (to the US) were all very efficient and I am glad I have added it to my collection.
